On 20 March 2026, Professor Ingrid Daubechies received an Honorary Doctorate from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University, in recognition of her outstanding scientific contributions to mathematics, signal processing, and wavelet theory.
Ingrid Daubechies is internationally renowned for her pioneering work on wavelets, which has had a profound impact on signal and image processing and numerous other scientific and technological fields.
The honorary doctorate was awarded with Prof. Aleksandra Pizurica and Prof. Hendrik De Bie as promotors.
